DVD2SVCD: Should I downsample from 48khz to 44.1 khz?

Is it really necesary to downsample? I have been doing it since it is the standard for SVCD. AM i wasting time?

You'll have much more compatibility with players at 44.1 than at 48.

You surely do !

AS 48 Khz is the standard for DVD, nearly all DVD player accept VCD with 48kHZ audio stream.

Just test it

I have 5 standalone DVD players, and only in two of them I can play 48Khz audio on (K)VCDs. :?
That's why I stick to 44.1Khz!

By not downsampling the audio for your SVCD's will also help with conversion to DVDR if that is a future option. For a DVDR's you will need 48khz audio.

I have made 100's of SVCD's and ALL with 48khz audio and I'm yet to find a DVD player that the audio does not play on.
