Problems at DVD2AVI Stage

Hi Everyone, :D
I'm a Noobie ( as I'm called, i THINK!! 8O ) and this is my 1st posting in this forum. :)
I'm getting stuck on my test film. It runs ok upto the point i have to save it. When i open up TMPGEnc to do a test run i CANNOT find the avs file the guide for dummies tells me....

http://www.kvcd.net/guides/kguide/kv..._3._Encoding_1

section 5 is where I'm getting stuck, I cant seem to Encode the movie. The d2v is listed and can get Encoded. Is this correct file i need?
i tried to encode this file a few times but it comes up as a small square in the middle of the media player.
ANY help would appreciated as i spent several hours trying this yesterday and most of this morning too.

hi surfingus,
welcome :)

"The d2v is listed and can get Encoded. Is this correct file i need?"

no surfingus, you need the .avs file created in MovieStacker
on the step 4, Using Moviestacker & file prediction (optional).
...
 7. Click Save Script and choose a
suitable name and destination for you Test Sample Script :!:

than in the step 5 - encoding the video:
 2. Click on Browse next to the Video Source and load
in the test sample .avs file you saved from Moviestacker :!:

ps:
the prediction is the optional item on step 4,
the .avs created in MovieStacker
is needed to load in TMPGEnc :!:

Sorry

Hi,

Sorry I don't get back in here much to check my thread, just so busy lately.
I'll try to check at least once a day from now on...
First thing to do is make sure your Tmpgenc is set up ok to read AVS files.
Look in Environmental setting/vfapi plugin.
Make sure the AVS reader is in the list like avs/virtualdub reader.
If it's NOT there, download the readavs.dll http://listen.to/redaudio//ReadAVS.dll follow the instructions, if that's already installed, give it a priority of 1 too.
Also, make sure your using v1.76+ of DVD2avi.
If you still have probs post here and I'll try to sort it out with you tomorrow night after work.

Good luck
