what is the ratio of mb to cq value? cause I encoded a 1hr 45min movie usin the PAL 352x576 template I encoded at 70cq and audio encoded 44.1 128 and got a 698 muxed mpg but if I up the cq by 5 the m1v ends up being near 900mb. I used the moviestacker script settings mentioned in the moviestacker guide both times. Someone tell me why the m1v file with 75 cq ends up near 900mb wfter uppin the cq by 5?

Hi andybno1,

The CQ/MB ratio is not linear. It will vary for every movie. That's why I use ToK. I know ToK is not as accurate on PAL as it is on NTSC material, but it's better than guessing!

well tok did suggest 70 as inital cq so I clicked started and got the error I mentioned in the tok section which I'm still gettin. so I have gone about doing kvcd manually, so done 70 in tmpgenc and got a m1v at near 600mb quality was great for vcd quite close to svcd but I noticed there was still room on disc and thought improve pic quality so upped cq by 5 as stated already and ended up with a m1v file at near 900mb so not sure what the hell went wrong. script is mentioned here.
