KVCD: How to determine resolution?

I have read in the forum that we should encode the video with the similar resolution with the orginal file, but how do i determine which resoluiton to use such as 352x 240 (288), 704 x 480 and 528x 480?

and also when i use 704 x 480 is createa larger file than orginal i though it suppose to compress the file

Hi GenK

Can you give us more details. What is the source file format (avi, mpeg1 or 2) etc.

Hi Genk

If your source i already mpeg1 you are going to suffer further degradation using the standard processes here since you will need to decode and re-encode. However if you need to do this I would suggest opening up the Mpeg1 file in Vdub. Open file information to see all the details on the file (resolution etc) and frameserve into the Avisynth script. Knowing your input resolution parameters you can use Moviestacker to fine tune your script. In Moviestacker choose a resolution closest to your input file res. Hope this helps.
