I am converting a movie to see if will work on my DVD player if it does work is there a way to make the SKVCD take 180 minutes or 360 minutes just like the KVCD or is 120 the maximum amount file size I can convert to

With SKVCD, you should be able to put ~120 minutes MAX on a CD. That's about it. First of all, it's MPEG-2, so you get less quality than MPEG-1 at low bit rates. That's why the max is estimated at ~120 minutes. You'll still get more play time with SKVCD than any standard SVCD.
