Get TMPGEnc to load an AVI MPEG4 video with AC3 sound?
Is there a way to get TMPGEnc to load an AVI MPEG4 video with AC3 sound?
|
Just load it like you load any mpeg file the audio will load automatically
on the audio tab. |

I have several Three Stooges shorts that a buddy sent me, according to WinMedia Player 9, they are: Video: XviD MPEG-4 Video Decode Audio: AC3Filter WinMEdia Player 9 plays them fine, as does PowerDVD. BUT, as soon as I load them into TMPGEnc, all I get is the video line, Audio line is empty. |
Make sure you check "DirectShow Multimedia reader" on TMPEG's environment.

Thanks. |
Well, back to square one.
TMPGEnc loaded the audio stream, but it appears it did not know what to do with it. I got beautiful video streams thanks to the Half-D1 KVCD templates, but only heard silence. No audio in WinMedia Player 9 and PowerDVD. |
Why don't you extract the AC3 with VDub and encode it to MP2 with Headache?

No go, Jelly. Error, no compressor found.
If I knew how to attach an image I would show you the VDub info screen. It lists audio as 48000Hz, 1 (Mono), compression unknow (tag2000)... |
Well this usually means, that you don't have the codec installed, which is needed to decompress the file...
I really don't know better, but I'd install the newest Xvid codecs again, and see if it changes anything! |
.
. you could try the following, as its suppose to have AC3 built-in I think, or else at least, support for it. You may end up needing the codecs though.. but wouldn't hurt to try anyways.. right ?? * VirtualDubMod_1_5_1_1a_all_inclusive.zip Sorry, I lost the LINK. * Then, open your source as usual, and frameserve it into TMPG.. ie of ...framerserve name: movie.vdr * TMPG: video [movie.vdr] * TMPG: audio [movie.vdr] Maybe this will work (or not) Good lucks anyways. -vhelp |
