Audio won't decode from VOB files
 

It seems strange to me that when I play the VoB files in the software player that the audio track is fine, but it won't decode (or demux) in Dvd2avi. I get only the first 8 minutes or so. Video portion is complete.

There is only one audio track according to the stream information.

Maybe it's this particular DVD??? But I would sure like to be able to get that audio track...

Maybe everybody is out of ideas?

Use MPEG Mediator to extract to WAV from your VOBs. Then encode with HeadAC3he.

Used MPEG Mediator to decode the VOB files to WAV. Resulting file was 2.35 GB, a bit suspicious. And in Headac3he, the length was listed as 3:56:08:582, about twice as long as the movie. The encoded mp2 file was 387 MB and when I played it, most was silent/blank, with only bits and pieces of it scattered through the silence.

Is the audio file DTS, by any chance? You will see this shown in the small window that pops up in DVD2AVI during frame serving. If so, you cannot easily decode this format. Chances are there is a non DTS audio file you can work with (on track 2???). I use DVD Decryptor which shows the various audio and subtitles available on a DVD. When I attempted to copy Behind Enemy Lines, my frame serving was completed in under 3 minutes! This was because of the DTS file (denoted with a xxx80 file name in DVD Decryptor). It was not decoding correctly and sound was a mess. When I chose xxx81 (also indicated as an English track) I selected track 2 in DVD2AVI. Basically, xxx80 = track 1, xxx81 = track 2, etc.
