Can anyone tell why the TMPGEnc gave me this error. When I try to open this file it gives me this error. Can not open or unsupported.........is there anyway to fix this or TMPGnc just doen't like the file? Any help thx....

I guess it's a DivX avi, so...

If you CAN'T open the file in your media player either:
Download the Nimo Codec Pack and install it. (If you don't know anything about filters just leave the standard settings).
Try again.
If you still can't open it in your media player, find and download the appropriate codec.

If you CAN open the file in your media player, you should be able to open it in TMPGEnc too.

Open TMPGEnc and increase the Priority of the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader (to be sure: move it to the top of the list) under the Environmental Settings -> VFAPI Plug-In.
If that didn't solve your problem, untick all "Quality Settings" in the DivX configuration (smooth playback etc.).

That's all the experience I got with that problem, hope it helped. If not, specify your video file, so the local Gurus can help you out

Thx boon for your help Im kinda of a noob. Well I can play it in my media player so the codecs I have are right. I did what you told me to do and I still can't get it to covert to mpg, still get same error.I just don't know what to do Oh ya its a divx;avi file.

Hey boon I didn't know how to move it to the top. I was tring to drag it and it wasn't working. Until I hit right click then I was able to move it to the top. Hey I got it to work Thanks alot boon
