possible to create KVCD or KDVD on Mac ?
Is anyone making KVCDs or KDVDs on Mac OS X? I'd be interested in knowing what software you're using and why you chose it. Thanks!

You should be able to look at the source of ffmpeg and change the quantization matrix to KVCD's. Then recompile the encoder. That's it :!:
Then you can use the great front end ffmpegX ;) Sadly, there's no AviSynth on the mac, so the quality will never reach what we get here with PCs :( -kwag |
ffmpeg was the only mpeg1 encoder I could find for OS X - are there any others ? Actually, is there a Windows binary anywhere so I could have a play? I couldnt find one...
Regarding the lack of AVISynth and its filters, is there other software on the Mac that allows plugin filters to be created and applied to video sources? I'm curious because hopefully, come September, I'm going to have a shiny new dual 2Ghz PowerMac G5 on my desk @ work, which should be moderately kick ass at video encoding ;) |
Ahhh!, you're going to love that machine :!: Go right now to the main page at www.kvcd.net and look on the right side on the news and see the review that NASA just gave the G5 ;)
There is a very good commercial encoder: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19932 Check it out :!: -kwag |
