I just encode the same way i would with a DvD backup, load it in and mess about with the settings till its the way you want it. Oh i always decompress the audio before i start as it shaves a couple of hours off the encode time for some reason. I just encoded the matrix (Divx) at cq 80,Dual Channel, audio 160 kbps and it came to 764,204mb! thats class..

Download avi to vcd from www.vcdhelp.com. When you extract it and look in the folder there will be two programs, avi to vcd and one called decompress. Select that then point it to the divx file you want and let it decompress the audio. You will need to have some space on your drive as the file size is quite large (1,500mb to 2,000mb) approx. You will then have a file called ________Pcm.avi load this into tmpgnc and convert to .mpg. Thats it. 1-2 hours of the encoding time.
