Resizing/Border Parameter Problems
Hi
Ive been trying to load an AVI from a DV camera using a avs script. However the AVISource doesnt recognise my AVI. DirectShowSource loads it, but if I try to use the different Grip functions any operations are so slow as to be useless (this, I am told, is what happens!). Obviously the next step would be to get MovieStacker to tell me the appropriate resizing/border parameters however it doesnt recognise my AVI (sadly only recognises it as "1:1 VGA"). I did try using the Avisynth resizing/border parameters that it gave me (as well as ones for VCD) but they were wrong (gave me a small part fo the top left corner). Is there another easy way of working them out or getting Movie Stacker to give me the correct parameters??? Thanks mike |
You should install avs2.52 with ffvfw, convert your avs script into an avi with this last tool and open the resulting avi with moviestacker : I think things will be better.

What exactly does ffvfw do?? Any documentation is sadly very lacking! However I did create my fake AVI and MovieStacker appears to have picked up the correct resolution and given me the right resizing parameters (although, oddly, the border parameters seem to be unnecessary). Encoded successfully through TMPEGEnc and it plays great!
Cheers mik |
P.S. I also needed to put in a
ConverttoRGB() as well. I think Ive finally tweaked it!! |

Phil, can i trust that this "false avi" is the reason that my samples are blocking with "ugly dark green" :?: when i open my .avs script in vdubmod, in avi information i got:  FourCC code: FourCC [YV12] Unknown  decompressor: ffvfw MPEG-4 Codec http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....er=asc&start=0 could be :?: |
It's possible : this tool is still in development, and so, not stable.
But I don't undestand why you have ffvfw that is used as decompressor when you read avs. I don't have this ! Do you use "makeavi.exe", the binary delivered with ffvfw on your avs or not ? |
