KVCD: after encoding, the quality seems to drop?
i am trying to encode a mpeg1 to kvcd mpeg1 but after i finish encoding the quality seems to drop,can any one of you can help me! :cry:

Hi Yosuke,
Welcome. Quality will always suffer when you re-encode an MPEG-1 (or MPEG-2) again to it's own format. You shouldn't re-encode MPEG-1. This is not a KVCD issue, as you will also get poor quality if you re-encode with any template or encoder. Unless you use a very high bit rate, and then that voids the whole purpose, because your target size will be larger than the source, with no gain in quality. -kwag |
