Video is less then half done

When I use bbmpg or even tmpgenc to us the svcd header trick it gives me a file size of 217mb. The .m1v file is 700mb and the .mp2 is 80mb. I also looked at the .m1v file and it showed it being full length 1:30:27. But when I looked at the mux video it shows it being 40 minutes long.

any solutions.

And you don't have ANY error on the screen of bbmpeg ?

ak47 07-25-2003 12:10 PM

No errors. But the weird part is when it first scans the video for pictures it act like the video is full size (around 780mb), it goes slow up to 40% or around there, then after that it goes extremely fast to 100%. Then when it mux the videos it shows the video being less then half size 217mb and finishes with that size.

I think this is the same problem that I'm having, but only with AVI's that I've captured.

I have had a similar problem, sometimes bbMpeg would stop halfway through the mux without reporting any errors. After much trial and error I decided to delete the bbMpeg folder and unzip the original archive and try again and to my surprise it worked. My guess is that the .dll is getting corrupted somehow.

I must say I have problems with bbmpeg since a few days : it always failed on the last % of work telling "can't find user data at I-frame xxx". It's boring :-(. I wonder how trhe program can be corrupted.

Hi dialhot,

Try MPlex: http://www.kvcd.net/mplex.exe

Cool, nice prog Kwag. While I think BBMpeg does a nice job the fact that it is no longer being developed worried me about a good alternative down the road. You are always one step ahead Kwag. Thanks.

Can it be used by tools like Tok or DVD2SVCD that call bbmpeg automaticaly in batch mode, or not ?

I'm not sure if it can be used for batching, but I use it instead of BBMpeg :)

Edit: Mplex is part of the MJPEG Tools. Their site is http://mjpeg.sourceforge.net/

Ok, so I can complain ;-)

It doesn't work : same error, same place.
I'll continue to use TMPGEnc muxing facility...

Phil,

Did you find a solution for this? I have same problem with one film.

Dialhot 09-13-2003 10:51 AM

I use TMPGEnc for all my muxing since a long time now. What I can say is that I've just tested it, and it works, but I have reinstalled my PC from a ghost image in the meantime. So I can't say I found a solution.
