Hello jorel and Kwag and all you guys who tried to help me with my
problem!

I took some time to process all the info that you kept giving me and began
to read as many threads as I could find relating to my problem anyway I
came across avalons guide and his filter zip file on his site and I finnaly
dont get no errors in avisynth...wahoo! :yippie:

Too many filters and with differant vertions kept me confused I had them
all mixed up but now I have a new problem can someone tell me the full
process of file prediction mayby a step by step, I tried to use Moviestacker
to find the average bitrate but I dont understand how it works with
CQmatic?

This is what I did:

I followed Avalons guide to the letter (Fantastic guide avalon!)
the guide was CQMatic basic anyway everything works fine until I get to
the part where I load my avs script into CQMatic(1.0 beta6) I start the
prediction with the avarage biterate for video I found in Moviestacker and
added the time of movie in minutes (how do you compisate for seconds?)

This is my first encode with CQMatic so if im doing something wrong
please let me know...Tomorro I will post my results.

Movie=1:25:26 time in min=85
Moviestacker 2 beta3=Movie.d2v=time in min=68min 23sec and
avg biterate=1475 audio was 128kb

The template I used in TMPGenc:
KVCD-CQ-352x240-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf

MaxPower:

A couple of questions/suggestions:
1.- Please use the latest version 1.0 Release Candidate 2 (RC-2) July 25, 2003.
2.- Did you set your max min at Tmpegenc? Max is 2,000, if you are using the latest optimal script. The min is the average bit rate from Moviestacker X .57. (Just in case I am not explaining this correctly, if your Moviestacker average bit rate is 1000, then your minimun bit rate at Tmpgenc becomes: (1000 X .57, or 570)
3.- Please read kwags notes regarding some settings at Tmpgenc. You will find the latest version and the notes here:
http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5145&start=0
4.- In Cqmatic, you need to set 2 values and load 1 file. Enter the time in minutes (I usually round up), that you will find on the first section of moviestacker, and the average bit rate, that you will find there as well (moviestacker)
5.- If you have followed Avalon's great guide, then you have already created and saved your .prt file. This is the file that should be loaded into moviestacker.
6.- Once you load the .prt file, then hit execute to either encode or predict. (See kwags instructions on the post quoted above.

Hope that I did not confuse you at all with my notes. I am going by memory here, but I have read a post that is addressing all of this step by step. Let me look for it and I will post it here as well.
Found it at this link:

I believe that with the post mention just above, Avalon's guide and kwag's notes you may not go wrong.
Hope this helps

seems I downloaded the wrong one

Im doing this as I write, the bitrate I got from Moviestacker was 1475 so
I should multiply this with .57 and use the result (840.75) as my min
bitrate in TMPGenc under (Rate control mode) and max 2000...Is this correct?

Q: What options do I need selected in Moviestacker?
Q: What number do I use in CQMatic for bitrate 840.75 or 1475?

I read it was suposed to be my d2v file that I use in moviestacker or am I
reading it wrong.

Thanks for the help I will do what you say but if you could answer my
questions above that would be great.

Yes. These are the TMPGenc numbers that you should use for Max and Min bit rates.
Quote:
Q: What options do I need selected in Moviestacker?
There are 3 items you should obtain from moviestacker:
* average bit rate, which you should use in both TMPGenc ( your 840 one) and QCmatic (your 1475)
* gripfit values (modify the gripcrop line in optimal script with this one)
* length of film.
You should load the type of resolution you want. This is described on both Oxide's detailed steps, and Avalon's guide..
Quote:
Q: What number do I use in CQMatic for bitrate 840.75 or 1475?
1475
Quote:

The input to moviestacker is the d2v file that comes from dvd2avi.
CQmatic input is the one coming from TMPgenc, that is the .tpr file.

What I have done is to print Avalon's guide, as well as other pertinent posts, read them several times, and then perform the QCmatic real live steps, after several cold runs, to make sure that I had the proper settings; and even then, I had problems that I was able to resolve by reading the posts, asking questions and experimenting. The learning curve, in my case, was long, had computer problems, virues, and lack of understanding, but so far, and thanks to kwag, vhelp, black prince, jorel, D&C and many others, I am able to work w/ QCmatic, which is a relatively a brand new program.
In addition, most, if not all of the detailed steps are in the three posts/guides mentioned earlier: kwags notes, Avalon's guide ande oxide's detailed steps. Print them, if you have not already done it, and use them as your guide.

Hope this helps. Regards

it in nero to burn but it would not fit on 1 cd.

Then I decided to wach the movie and half way trough the audio just stops
this the first time I come across this problem.

Any one know why I would get this problem maybe I do something wrong?

Avalone your guide is back up so I will try with your advanced guide and

@Max Powers,

What is the target path to your encoded file
Your log has errors. The line: File size difference = -20394062.000000 can NEVER be negative, so CQMatic is not finding the sample to calculate CQ, and that's why it's jumping to 90, which is incorrect.

@Max Powers,

Could you put your projects and your target on a directory other than C:\Documents and Settings\Max Powers\Desktop\TMPGenc Projects\TPR Text Projects\KVCD-1-SH.tpr
Somewhere that there are no spaces in the filenames
I'm trying to figure out why I can't read your output file. That's the problem
