Confirm TMPGE Settings

Kwag

Would like to confirm the settings I need in TMPGEnc for CQMatic. I have seen avg for .75 and .57, Max Bit of 2500. Default is 3000, Which should We be using. Just completed my test on Gods and Generals. Part one and Two came out perfect with CQMatic. Part One is longer so the CQ was 71.80 Part Two was 77.82 and both will fit on one 80 Min CD. (part One on one disk and Part two on another). Thank You

Hi Bud,

The most important things:

MAX bitrate = 2,000Kbps
MIN bitrate = ( 0.57 * Average bitrate )
Motion estimate search

Yes , because the average bitrate will be closer to MAX than for one CD, and prediction should then be fine :D
I should have mentioned that before :!:
But leave the MIN at 0.57 * average ;)

Master Kwag or any one from the site, I have a question on the max and min settings. I know mostly everyone uses the mpeg1 template but I can only encode with the 528x480 mpeg2 template (which plays flawlessly) and I was just wondering what I should use as max and min. I have been reading about CQmatic and can't wait to try it but I just need to confirm the settings of max and min when using mpeg2. Thanks to anyone that can help or give me an explaination.

Hi Tutankhamun,

If you are using the MA script, the same numbers above your post apply :)

Master Kwag thanks for the reply! I am not using the MA script, I think I am still under avisynth 2.07, can't remember if I went to 2.08. So then I guess I should leave the min and max at 300 and 2500 and just use the average from moviestacker?!? Thanks Kwag!
