Hi Jorel..

Sorry for not getting back ta ya. My system went bonkers w/ latest toy
while I was napping during it's testing stuff.. I lost connect and had to shut
down.

I'm stumped. Because today, I took VCALC to other pcs, and not a single
one had any issues. All of them pass w/ flying colors.

So, it must be down to:
* cpu and/or bios settings,
* OS configurations ie, currency and measurements settings per world area.

Bare w/ me, because this is all new to me. It works, it don't work.. it works,
it don't work. I will have to do some research.

I'm only sorry that of all people, you can't get VCALC ta work (and play with)
but yet, have no problems w/ my other app, SLIM-G !!

So, it has ta be a "decimal" issue, and how certain countries handle certain
kinds of numbers/floating point arithmetic etc. ..you Brasil'ians !! Hay, don't
you guys have that weird PAL issue ??

I don't know what else to do. I've change all "Reals" to "Floats" and still,
you have issues.

Hi Jorel..

Here is the cause (like, I new it was something like this) ..

When I load an app, I get an error message ('... is not a valid floating point value'). Why ??

This was because of the differences between American and European conventions where the floating point values contain commas instead of periods. i.e., '.' vs. ',' OR, 500.20 vs. 500,20

Now, to find out HOW to compensate for this, when you foreingers play
w/ this app hmm....

Hi Jorel..,

Bare in mind, that this could be "considered" a bandaid or quick-fix..
temporary. I don't know how much this would effect your usual format
and things, if you've changed the way it handles decimals. But it works !!

I'm still researching the "actual" fix, so that you don't have to resort to the
control panel changes. But, as long as it works, now you can play w/ VCALC !!

Still working on update..

Have fun,

Hi Jorel..

As for the CD size, I think I can implement those other sizes too. But, now
that you have the "decimal" licked, I think you can NOW use the "custom"
features of those boxes. Give it a try. But, DON'T USE DECIMALS for the
CD Size field !! Only whole number !!

Jorel's customer size:
* 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400

But, I will add those (yours) you just given me, to this list:
* 80, 120, 180, 640, 700, 800, 900, 1280, 1400, 1600, 1800, 2400

Note, if you have a "wheel mouse" like I do, you only have to select the
field, and then use the wheel to adjust - - Very Handy, to watch the values
change, while using the wheel !! I use the MS version. Only need one wheele Staples has one for $7 bucks!! Just like MS's.

hi nicksteel..

Vhelp, if you add more options, a preferences file would be most appreciated. For example, I always use 1024 and 1400. I'll let you know how usage works out in the future.
Sorry, I had to disconnet from internet for a while.

I'm not sure what the 1024 and 1400 stand for.
* CD size, or
* bitrate ??

Thanks,

@ Getup..

yeah, I'm working on that.

I caught that last week, but hadn't time ta fix it - sorry.
I'm getting their now, but I think I fixed it already, but just haven't
gotten to U/L'ing the latest version (now at v0.0.5e)

EDIT:...
Actually, other advancements have been made, and counter's at .6 and am
planning for a v1.0 version, due to the many incorporaties I've made.. but
I could squeeze in a .5e w/ just those changes maybe

I'll see what I can do this week though

Thanks,
