TMPGEnc: 2.5GB mpg vcd from 700mb avi ?
 

Before someone jumps and says download 2.58 I have already done that(or so the site said anyway). I started with 2.520 and it tossed out the 3 giger. Then went to vcdhelp and went thru user guide to fitting a whole movie and that didn't work. So I dloaded 2.59 same prob, now I deleted all ver on cdrsions, found 2.58 and STILL have the problem. Thing is I had a version on my old PC from a year ago that did this no burps whatsoever. But I wiped that drive a bit back. PLEASE HELP!!! Here is the avi stats, may help:

700 meg
512x288
25fps
1:28 min


maybe someone can help me from that-Th :cry: anks in advance!!

Are you using file size prediction :?:
It seems that you are encoding at a preset CQ value, and that's the reason your file is so big.
What process are you using to encode :?: Are you using a .avs script :?:
We need to know if you are using filters for pre-processing, etc.

I have my bitrate set at 900 cbr

I am using the template set up found http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/84759.php


I then adjust bitrate and audio quality accordingly. But no matter what I do there it seems to still be big(file)

If I can add something...
Ive had problems like this, Tmpg does not seem to detect errors in avi files as well as others. Try opening the file in virtualdub if an error about 'vbr' comes up just save the file as a direct stream copy then load the new file into tmpg.
