@Kwag

You point out that this program is not good for AVI files but you specify Mpeg4 type files. What about Huffy captures?

What prevents CQ from working with these files?

Hi MrTibs,
I haven't tested Huffy captures
I have tested DivX sources, and the results are a disaster
That's what I'm trying to figure out now. It all points to CODEC issues, when seeking frames in a non-sequential order (for prediction)
I am now trying some direct encodes (.d2v) without any filters, just to narrow down and discard as many factors as possible ( avisynth, filters, etc )
It would be good to know how accurate the prediction is, when processing an AVI (Huffy compressed)

@Kwag

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll start the Huffy testing tonight. (I captured Indiana Jones I on the weekend.)
