TMPGEnc won't load avs plus it won't load movies if I don't have DirectShow checked. If I check DirectShow then it will load movies but still not avs. I have been using the same setup for awhile then had to reformat hard drive. So reinstalled the way it used to be, not working. However I have tried to upgrade to directx9 that didn't work uninstalled everything to start over that didn't work. I do have read avs installed right. It does show up in the plugins. Here is a script that i have tried to use. I also have tried a few others.
LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\mpeg2dec2.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\GripFit_preview.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\legalclip.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\dustv5.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\temporalcleanerold.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\MovieStacker\Filters\STMedianFilter.dll")
AviSource("F:\Movies done\American Pie.avi")
ConvertToYUY2()
LegalClip()
GripCrop( width=528, height=576, overscan=2 )
GripSize()
SpaceDust()
TemporalCleaner()
LegalClip()
ConvertToRGB24() # For TMPGEnc or VFAPI

AviSource("F:\Movies done\American Pie.avi")
BicubicResize(688,416,1/3,1/3,64,4,512,352)
AddBorders(16,32,16,32)
Please help.

hi Indeedashrink,

How about this suggestion...
Have you tried installing ReadAVS.dll ??

If not, you'll need these files inside your TMPG folder:
* ReadAVS.dll
* ReadAVS.reg

After you have both files in TMPG folder, register the .DLL w/ the .REG
file above.

Hope that helps,

Yes I did try that but didn't work. From what I can tell everything is installed right. Used SansGrip Recommended TMPGEnc settings as a guide.

Ok..

I'm in the middle of an app project.. so suggestions aren't easy for me at
the moment. Anyways..

What's the source ??
* divX
* .d2v
* captured .avi
.
.
* And, is it only when you frameserve .AVS scripts into TMPG ??
.. but that .d2v files are fine ??
.. and / or, captured .avi files are fine ??

Just trying to narrow down the list..

Thanks for the help. The source is divx but I have tried xvid all avi's.
It is fine when you just load a .d2v with out trying to use avs and only if I check DirectShow plugin if not it say's can not open or unsupported. Not sure what frameserve avs is but i'm writing the script useing fitcd.
Thanks

Ahhh.. now we're getting somewhere's.. !!

now you see why, all the questions.. ?? Anyways..

I have this SAME problem. I can't, for the life of me, Open an divX file
when frameserved in an .AVS script.

I found an alternate route (since no one knows better than I) and did the
unthinkable..

* open your .AVS source inside vdub, then
* frameserve it into TMPG.

--> vdub[.avs] --> .vdr --> TMPG !!

Works, but there is a slighte possiblility that you'll suffer some color issues.
In my expeirence, the sources comes out Blue'ishy looking.

The link below, gave some suggestions w/ respect to color. I think that
Wilbert's solution might do the trick,but I haven't tried it just yet, as
I've ben busy w/ an app project these past days

Several suggestions were made in another thread topic, with respect to
color issues etc. here:

* Script for prefiltered Videos? (DivX/Xvid)

Good luck, and I hope things work out, cause I'll be mooching off of you,
IF you get it all figured out (and you post your how-to)

Do you have Divx CODEC installed or just ffdshow ? Same for Xvid.

It's importatn to have the CODECS installed. Not a direct show filter that can handle Divx (ffdshow, ffvfw...)

I had this same problem, but solved it by removing and reinstalling DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc. This somehow links with TMPGEnc.
