I am trying to make a KVCD by demuxing the AVI file and producing an MP2 via HeadAC3he and then using TMPGEnc to produce the video file. Without using TOK.
All of this works fine.
The problem comes when I mux together the video and audio files. I end up with a file that is about half the size. The total time for the AVI is 29mins, but I end up with a truncated file of 14mins, after the muxing
I have checked the AVI file with AVIRepair and it doesn't report any problems.
I have used TMPGEnc and BBMpeg to do the muxing and they produce exactly the same truncated file

Any ideas.

Are you sure the file is truncated (I mean, did you watch the video till the end) ? Because you can't trust the total time displayed by the player (I use both wmp or zoomplayer, the problem is the same) : sometimes it's completly false ! Very often I have a 23 min video indicated as 14 min long only.

Yes it's truncated, I've watched the AVI and it's just under a half hour. The MP2 is exactly the same length as you would expect.
I'll check, but I'm sure when they're muxed, they're exactly half the true length.

I forgot to say: also the file size is way smaller than the combined size that it should be.

You checked the avi but perhaps the problem is in the mpeg produced by tmpegenc. Don't you have an other avi to do the same procedure ? If it works, that means that the problem is with the first file. If not, so you surely do something wrong that I don't understand for the moment.
