I thought I`d seen this topic here but couldn`t find it so hope no-one will mind me asking.

I encode using virtual vcr and the divx pro codec, on full screen films this is fine but I`ve noticed that on widescreen films the black borders get encoded and instead of being pure black they are blocky where I thought they should be pure black as they don`t change throughout the film?

What is the best solution to this, if I resize the film it appears stretched and I would reallly appreciate any suggestions

Thanks

The files with blocky black borders play correctly in a Yamada DVX standalone player which has support for MVCD (the rip off of KVCD).

Dave, what does DivX here in this forum? Or do encode MVCD out of DivX?
