Ahh finally success
Movie 120 minutes at 704x480
Avg Bitrate 1658

Encode done Wanted File Size: 1,486,543
Encoded File Size: 1,497,569
Accuracy of +.74%

However the bad news is that when multiplexed it spilt over by 5MB onto a 3rd CD, so Moviestacker is definetly screwy in its file size prediction.

I feel good about prediction now...I just need to work out the kinks on 'Wanted File Size' and leave more buffer room. Especially cause I like to add a simple menu or two which adds 1 or 2MB.

Oh and I tried the bitrate calculator and it came out to the exact avg bitrate as the adjusted time in Moviestacker I came up with (Moviestacker 78mins 35 seconds), using 1Kb = 1000bits, but when I change the Bitrate Calc to 1Kb=1024 it drops my avg bitrate by 39.

Which should I be using? 1Kb = 1024 right?

now is "my time"

a few days ago i needed the final size with 290mb cos
i divide the movie in 3 parts.
the full time of the movie is 88 minutes 46 seconds.
the first part have 31 minutes and 22 seconds.
i don't got the perfect CQ to my 290mb target
and i use some differents CQs to test.
first was CQ60...247mb,too short.
CQ65.....303mb,too big.
CQ64.....297mb,too big too.
then i encode using CQ63,20 and got 287mb final size.
and i think:
the perfect CQ is between 63,3 to 63,5 for 290mb target!
it was before Kwag start to develop CQMatic.
i try all versions and sometimes the CQ was too big or too short.

a big history,don't?

now the results using CQMatic 1106:
i did the project again....
min 300, max 2500, same source, same script....everything equal

result of my first prediction with CQMatic 1106 and
i send in pm to Kwag this first test,he have this full log(inbox)
i don't have no more...:
CQ 63,54

then i think:
what?
perfect!

BUT, to remove doubts i did ALL again cos my movie is 29,97 ntsc:
new project, min 300, max 2500, same source, same script,
reboot the system....everything again.

see the log:

Bad News:

I encoded the Movie "Fulltime - Killer" with a CQ 45,61. I used CQMatic 1104 for the prediction. The Final Size was 735 MB. The Wanted Size was 720 MB.

So I decided to make a prediction with the newest Version 1106. But the Final CQ was only around 40. That CQ is too low.

800 MB - Audio Size ( 80 MB in this Case ) = 720 MB*1024 = 737.280 KB

Just finished another movie
The Replacement Killers 528x480 @ 1 80Min CD
Avg Bitrate = 1092
Movie Length 87min 37 seconds

Wanted Video Size: 717,575
Actual Encoded Video Size: 716,081
Difference -.2%

Wow Hope my accuracy streak continues. Going to try some of my Sex and The City DVDs next. They are hybrid material which use Telecide and Decimate to convert 29fps NTSC to 23fps NTSC..

We'll see how that goes

That's not bad news at all
That's 2%, and that's tolerable
Also, from 40 to 45, you're working on the almost "flat range" of TMPEG, where a large change in CQ barely produces a file size change, so it seems that 40 is really the correct CQ

I must not caught on to any of this, I have a Divx file of 765mb, I tried to use the headac3he-moviestacker-tok way without any luck, I was told that my CQ was off, don't really know how to check what my CQ is other than in tmpegnc.

ok so I have been reading about the name progrma that Kwag has done, now I try to follow Avalon's guide, but he used DVD rips for that, so I have to try to figure out how to go about it with looking around the fiorums to where to start,

I am holding the divx file in one hand and cqmatic in the other a I don't understand how the puzzle works, I have seen where people say they only use tmpegnc and select a kvcd template and it works for them, I find that hard to believe since I have tried different files, some go out of range and others just are way to big, I know that you must compress the files(audio+video) to make all of this work, It sucks to be new and try to walk before I crawled,

When I open Cqmatic and try to open the project what is it I am trying to open?, there must be something before this step to do, and it asks for a TEXT project, is this the script that we made up in the moviestack before?

Can you say lost, I know I can, I can read all whatt everyone is saying but I just can not take it in, is there a simple guide around or maybe in the near future to convert Divx to kvcd using CQmatic?

it seems that alot of people are really using the KVCD that Kwag designed and there is a ton of different ways people are using them, but I like to to the real source for the ones who really know what all is involved in this...

Thanks as always

HeyJoe!!
