Cannot rip correct audio/video track
Maybe the subject is not quite clear.........
I'm trying to make a backup of "Planet of the Apes" (2002 remake). The problem is that I seem not to be able to get the correct audio/video combination. The audio(as well as the video) I keep ending up with are the directors/producers commentary. In the video you see small insert pictures of the person that is giving the commentary. I used DVD2SVCD's internal routinges to rip the DVD. When trying a new attempt I used (of course) the VOB/IFO files that were previously ripped to hard drive. but whatever IFO file I chose I keep getting the wrong video/audio combination. Is it possible to check the correct audio track before encoding ? I always chose "English 1" AC3 type for audio/language. |
It's possible that the film use angles, and DVD2SVCD internal routine doesn't handle this correctly.
Try DVDDecrypter or smartripper (but I think this last one has problems too). |
I had this problem with the film Mallrats. I think it has to do with the fact that DVD2SVCD assumes the longest time is the main movie. I think ripping with DVDdecrypter in File Mode with Main Movie Only will hit the right Vobs. Then use DVD2SVCD on that rip.

OK,
I'll try ripping with DVDdecrypter. Thanks for the advice... Hope it doesn't introduce audio synchro problems (according to doom9 info external rippers can cause this, and I've actually had these problems before.......I'll let you know if it worked). |
