Playback Aspect Ratio?

I'm using the Pal Plus template for Tmpegenc.
I've been playing around with QuickTime movies and stuff because there short and have a nice 1500-2000 bitrate(well thats what Mac Says) anyways.

The movie plays in my DVD player no problem but,
it strechs the movie to a widescreen all the way across the screen even tho i'm picking "FullScreen: Keep Aspect Ratio" Does anyone have any sugguestion?

Can someone also explain(with a picture perferably) what GOP fix would make keep high quality yet reduce the size.

A .mov that was 11.5MB is 21MB once its made into a Mpeg1. Would a Mpeg 2 make it smaller?

Are you using any script ? Or just the template and load the source directly into tmpgenc ?

Just the template. I'm just now getting started into KVCD. Beside for these werid aspect ratios the compression in quality is amazing.

I'm gonna try to push a 2137 bitrate video of a whole movie to disk once I get this aspect ratio thing down.

I switched to the Mpeg2 5xx by 5xx. Anyways works perfect.
