Hi Guys.

I am currebtly encoding PAL Captures with success and just managed to squeeze LIFE (100mins without end credits) onto an 80min CD with great quaility at 352x288.

My question is, will the final encode be smaller if I converted to NTSCFilm?

Does the lower resolution and framerate of NTSCFilm affect the final filesize?

If it does, can anyone please explain the simplest way to do it?

I am capturing with huffyyuv at 352x576 and doing a straight forward conversion with Tmpeg and KVCD template.

Thanks for your help.

Dan.

Hi Dan:

If you're capturing PAL, keep the final mpeg conversion PAL.
Don't do format conversion.
Also, PAL will give you a little higher definition than NTSC, because of more resolution lines. However, your file size will be larger with PAL than with NTSC.
