VirtualDub: BinkW32.dll error message, how to fix?
Hi peoples..
Basically, I'm trying to fix my 2nd pc Encoding setup. I'm almost their :!: This way, I can test encodes and things, while still doing others, even if my MAIN pc crashes (which happens all more too often in a day) I keep getting this error message dialogbox that pops up.. -------------------------------------------- BinkW32.dll is incorrectly installed windows system directory -------------------------------------------- Everytime I start vdub and then Load in a source (any kind) this message pops up. But, the after pressing [OK] button, video displays. I know it has something to do w/ a CODEC I installed, but even after uninstalling it, as I understood it, this message keeps on poping up anyways. Is there any other way of getting rid of it ?? .reg perhaps.. I don't :( Does anybody know what |

Hi Jorel..
About 4 months ago, I did some experimenting w/ CODEC's and found a bunch of varous YUV ones' ie, 4:2:2 etc. I installed them, and everything went well. Then, when I started playing around in vdub, I started to get error messages about this BinkW32.dll file 8O It's ben driving me crazy then, and still is today. I can't get rid of it. The error message that is. I'm not even sure if I have the CODEC installed either. I just keep getting this error message. But, if memory serves me correctly, during one of those CODEC installs, the install bombed out w/ a error message and crashed my system. I do remember having to reboot, then. But, that was soo long ago, I can't guarantee who/how/what I did exactly 8O All I know, is I need to get rid of this message !! Thanks, -vhelp |
Have you tried to reinstall Virtualdub or install another version?
|
hi Edlund,
Yes, I did try that too. Still no go. I think I got a stowaway (spelling) hanging around my \system or something. Just wont go away !! Anyways, things for your response, -vhelp |
Hi vhelp,
Search your registry for "BinkW32.dll", and remove any references. Your problem is related to a CODEC. -kwag |
Thanks Kwag..
I'll give that idea a go. -vhelp |
