DVD Shrink vs. KDVD (or KVCD)
How does DVD Shrink accomplish the "shrinking" of a movie?
If I have a DVD (i.e. Old School) and I use 25% to fit just the movie (no extras or menus)... And I also created an equally sized KDVD MPEG2 file by first ripping the Old School DVD locally, creating a DVD2AVI file, making a script and then encoding... Which is going to be faster? (I think DVD Shrink). Is is using a re-encoding process? Grantman |
DVDShrink is going to be always faster, because it doesn't reencode the video. It is a transcoder. DVDShrink reduces the DCT data in each frame in the amount you specify. But the results will always be better reencoding the video using CCE or Tmpgenc.
