Get it here (in the "mine" section): http://neuron2.net/index.html

Yet another great work by neuron2! I was banging my head against the wall the other day troubleshooting for nearly 4 hours :banghead: ...I finally suspected that the problem lied within dvd2avi v1.76 for some strange reason (I'd never ran across this problem before...after encoding, the resulting file was very erratic/jumpy/skipping...sorry I can't explain it better than that, but you'd probably know what I mean if you encountered this same problem).

Anyways, I came across this great program by D. Graft and it really saved the day!

From the Fixd2v readme:
Code:
Fixd2v 1.2.1
------------

by Donald Graft

Fixd2v is a command line program that corrects illegal D2V files.
Due either to bugs in DVD2AVI or to malformed streams, it is
possible to encounter D2V files that have illegal flag
sequences, such that a request is made for two consecutive
top or bottom fields. Top and bottom fields must strictly
alternate! When such an illegal transition occurs, the
Avisynth mpeg2source() filter (and other decoders that read
the D2V file) will generate field inverted video from the point
of error (and until a subsequent illegal transition cancels
the first one!). When you view the clip, the field order appears
to change at the illegal transition.

Standalone and some software players are able to ignore/correct
the illegal requests on the fly, but currently DVD2AVI/mpeg2source()
cannot. Therefore, this program can be used to fix the D2V file
before it is sourced into mpeg2source().

This program works with DVD2AVI 1.76 and 1.86.

Usage: To use the program, type:

fixd2v file.d2v

The program will create a fixed D2V file called file.d2v.fixed.
The program will report the errors found to the command window.
To see the changes made, you can run a diff between the fixed
and original D2V files.
Many thanks to neuron2 for another great tool! Do a search for "fixd2v" on his forum for more details.

Cheers,
-d&c

*Note: A new "fixed" d2v file is only created if irregularities are detected in the original. Also, for those people who don't like command-lines: on my XP machine, I simply dragged and dropped the problematic .d2v file onto the "Fixd2v.exe" program icon, and it performed the task automatically.

So I assume this bug is not present in DVD2AVI 1.77.x
