When using title pictures they always turn out vertically "squashed" (too wide and too flat).

how can I prevent this from happening ?

Jesus Phil ! ...........

TV set is 16:9. Because of subs (Holland is "sub" country) I set the TV set to "16:9 subs".

I've seen several SKVCD's with title pic in correct sizes ! (that's what bothers me )

I just like the title pic......

Any ideas ?

The problem is that all the title picture are generated by DVD2SVCD in 4:3 even if you generate the mpeg itself in 16:9 anamorphic. That is normal they appear squashed with your TV setting.

If you really want to use titles, you should generate only the mpeg with D2S and use VCDEasy to make the still pictures.

Or you can modify the bmp file used with something like paint shop pro and change their aspect ratio (to squash them) in order to have them "unsquashed" when displyed on your TV set. Do you understand what I mean ?

Yes, I understand what you mean Phil.

Maybe I just do that. Calculate the correct dimensions so that when they are squashed they have the correct size again.

Easier would be to use VCDeasy though........however I cannot find anything about a title picture in VCD easy (?). (I use V 1.1.2).

Update to last version. That is the 1.1.5.2 !

There you will find a "Mpeg still" tab where you can transform a BMP picture into a still mpeg video (in other word, a title picture or a menu). And you will have a check box to indicate if the TV set is 4:3 or 16:9.
