DVD Copy w/Nero

You can run the Nero DVD Copy only if the original DVD is NOT COPY PROTECTED, you can check thsi with Smartripper or others by looking for teh protected blocks lines, if it's copy protected it can not be copied via the NERO process, you have to go back to the Rip process ..

Thanks for the quick reply bud. I just got the drive today and in eager anticipation was about to wreck another disc tonight. I will hold off till I have read up on the ways to create dvd. Btw, have you tried the kwag kdvd templates? I'm still encoding at the moment but i'm not sure if it will look any good as the preview window is showing the movie in full screen but the original is 16:9. Unless dvd work on a different principle to vcd as in having to let the dvd player decide on which ratio to show the movie..... questions .. questions. Hate being a newbie again.. :!:

Making DVDs

I use DVDiT and Kwag's 352x480 Half DVD template, with that I can get 2 sometimes three SVCD quality movies on one DVD-R with menus. All this depends on the file size, keeping in mind the 4.7GB limit of the disk, so if your final file size is say 1.4 GB and the 2nd file was say 1.5 gb you could get both on a DVD-R using the Half KDVD template at least I can with DVDiT.

:D Thanks again Bud, I am a little worried with an encding I have just finished, The Others, The final size is 570mb and the film is 109 mins so as you can imagine the quality is dismal. I will re-encode with higher than standard cq and see what I end up wih. The only thing is I am unsure what settings I can mess with being my first dvd and all. One thing though, when you said that you use dvd it do you mean that you are using it instead of tmpgenc or using it afterwards? Sorry for what must seem like really stupid questions. If you know of a decent guide could you post the link? Thanx

DVDiT

DVDiT is the software I use to authur my DVD files, you would have to use one of the many search engines to fine it, Kazza, Shearbear etc. You still must use TMPGEEnc to process the movie with Kwag's KDVD Half template.

Aloha
