Bitrates: What script and CQMatic setting for pure NTSC interlaced?

fps material? I've only done 23fps file till now so I could use some tips. I posted here cause I'm not sure if CQMatic is accurate with 29fps material.

Should I use fielddeinterlace or something? for an 84 minute movie at 528x480 I was getting CQ values in the 30's. I know 29fps will give a lower CQ value, but that seems really low

yes my friend, you can use fielddeinterlace()..
better is read this post to understand how it works:
http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....5185&start=224

for 1 cd i got round CQ 68 using 480x480 mpeg2 in ~88minutes!
(one of my players don't like 5??x480).
the CQ that you got is too low for 84 minutes,
something is "strange".

thanks i'll give it a try and see if I get higher CQ
