KVCD: 3:2 Pulldown with MPEG-1?

I need to use 3:2 pulldown on a movie to get it to work. Can I do this with MPEG-1 or will I have to use MPEG-2?

Thanks,
A-Star

Yeah, I wish! MPEG-1 doesn't support 3:2 pulldown. No way to trick it to do so either, as far as I know. This would be nice since my Apex doesn't like Kwag's templates with 24fps.

I heard that it is possible to encode at 29 and then use bbmpeg to remux as SVCD w/ 3:2 pulldown. Will that work?

Hmm, I didn't think that 3:2 pulldown was part of that process, because my understanding was that the MPEG stream itself had to support 3:2 pulldown. In this case the stream is still MPEG-1, even though it's made to appear like SVCD to the burning app. Anyone else know about this??
