I know this issue has been discussed here before. The thing is that I HAVE installed the ReadAVS.dll file and should be able to open avs files in TMPGEnc. I might have missed something and would be very grateful if someone of you could help me. I'm going nuts here... :banghead:

When I try to open the avs in TMPGEnc it says:
File"XXX" can not open, or unsupported"

When I try to open the avs in VDub it says:
Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'YV12' (unknown)

I reinstalled Windows XP the other day and since then I haven't been able to get this to work. It worked before though...
BTW I'm using (or trying!) AviSynth 2.5.

Did you try adding: ConvertToYV12() after your source line

Hi kwag and thank you for your reply. No, I haven't a ConvertToYV12() line in my script. I'm using your MA script. I tried adding ConvertToYv12() after reading your post but nothing changed! I don't get it but I must have missed something, right?

Did you edit the ".reg" file, before registering (clicking) it

Yup!
BTW I only change this path, right?:
"Avisynth"="D:\\TMPGEnc\\ReadAVS.dll"

Yes, that is it.
And does ReadAVS show up on the "VFAPI" tab on TMPEG
If it does, then uncheck every other plugin, and leave only the "AviSynth/Vdub reader".

I unchecked every plugin except for ReadAVS but nothing's changed. TMPGEnc still won't open my avs! Can I be missing a codec or something? It worked before I reinstalled Windows XP yesterday and now nothing seems to work.

audioslave my friend,
install the xvid codec, this will solve all problems:

(xvid binaries )

....and uninstall ffvfw if you are using it!
