TMPGEnc: taking too much time to encode?
Or is it :?:
Ho long does Tmpeg usually take to encode a kvcd. I've been encoding now for nearly 7 hours and it's still only at 22%. Dont tell me it's going to take a day and a half and then I still need to add the audio 8O I've used the 704x576 template. Should I have used another one? thanks in advancehttp://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i.../2003/10/1.gif |
Hi Hockney.
Well I personally have an AMD 2000+ with 256MB RAM and it takes me about 4 hours to encode a 90 minute movie - depending on the material of course. How fast is your computer? |
Ermm it's pent. 4, 1.8ghz, 512 RAM
Meant to add I'm using one of the guides on kvcd.net using dvd decryptor, dvd2avi, headache, and movie stacker. Everything was fine upto Tmpeg where it's takin ageshttp://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif |
That's strange. Could you please post your script so we can see if you're using any slow filters?
|
I think this is what your talkin about http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\MovieStacker\Filters\MPEG2Dec.dll") LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\MovieStacker\Filters\GripFit_preview.dll") LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\MovieStacker\Filters\DustV5.dll") LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\MovieStacker\Filters\UnFilter.dll") LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\MovieStacker\Filters\LegalClip.dll") AviSource("C:\Documents and Settings\David\My Documents\New Folder\DVD2AVI.d2v") LegalClip() GripCrop(704, 576, overscan=2) GripSize(resizer="BilinearResize") FaeryDust() UnFilter(50, 50) TemporalSmoother(1, 2) MergeChroma(blur(1.58 )) MergeLuma(blur(0.2)) GripBorders() LegalClip() |
I think we have a winner! The Dust filter family are EXTREMELY slow and in combination with your high resolution it will probably take forever to encode. Sad but true :?
|
BTW What did you do to be able to open your avs (scripts) in TMPGEnc? I reinstalled Windows XP yesterday and now I can't the damn thing to work. 8O I installed the ReadAVS filter but it still won't work...
|
Do I just untick the dust filter on Moviestacker?
Sorry I know what your talkin about by installin the ReadAVS filter as I've done that but thats as far as my knowledge goes on the subject. I'm a newbie to all this :lol: Thanks for takin the time out to help me out it's much appreciatedhttp://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif |
No problemo my friend. We're here to help each other out. :wink:
You can open your script with notepad and simply put a # in front of the dust line. I don't use MovieStacker myself but I think you can untick the dust filter there if you find that easier. |
