Now I got to ask, what is the best choise using TMPGEnc MPEG1 or MPEG2. I've always made my KVCDs as MPEG2 544x480 but I've seen many that says MPEG1 gives better quality..and so on

The "real" advantage of mpeg2 is only given at Bitrates above 2000kbit/sec.
When encoding KVCDs the best choice is mpeg1 using CQ Mode cause it gives you a bit smaller filesizes and therefore more CQ!

But you have to test if your player accept this, there are player which do not display mpg1 480x576 streams for example correctly. So try and if it works choose mpeg1.

I only use mpeg2 in case of encoding 23.976 FPS streams using TmpgEnc's "Pulldown while play" function or if my source is interlaced.

I got a 'remarkable' higher cq and bitrate with mpeg1 vs. mpeg2.

Also my player does not like the kvcd gop with mpeg2 (screen is pulled down every second). So I now only use mpeg1 muxed as vcd and it's working great. Last project is good quality 2h15 on 1 cd.

When you are talking about the bitrate, are you talking about the movies "Averange Bitrate"? When I calculate the Averange Bitrate in Calcumatic I usually gets a nummer around 1000-1100. One movie on one cd-r

So are you talking about the Averange Bitrate which can be calculated with Calcumatic

P.S. Sorry for the late replay, much school the last days

Yes they are talking about average bitrate.

That is normal that you have all your average near 1000 : you are making KVCD (like I do).

But don't forget that some people here are doing KDVD. And they use bitrates above 2500-3000 Kb/s.

For them, MPEG2 is better than MPEG1. Not for "us".
