Good point, but the thing is I have no way of getting who it came from, since the link (http://www.jltoca.uaivip.com.br/file...tureEngine.zip) doesn't allow you to access http://www.jltoca.uaivip.com.br/files/ and if you go to http://www.jltoca.uaivip.com.br/ it sends you to a another page that has a language I don't know so all I can site is the link where it is and the link where I got the link, http://forum.mainconcept.com/viewtopic.php?t=892. So sorry jorel that’s the best I can do.

P.S. Thanx Renaissance for your editing of you post, I am very thankful

These techniques use MCE's constant quantisation mode, right? So you can't accurately predict the final filesize ... are there any recommended changes to the CQ settings for regular VBR mode? How does the quality compare?

I think the recommendations are always going to be for CQ setting, you will always get a better quality out of it, but if CQ of 3 is 450mb and CQ of 2 is 900mb, the I think the best bet would be using VBR since you really can't adjust the CQ in decimals, yes a very bad feature in MCE..
On another note that I think I forget to mention is when you check to see the frame rate on Mpeg-2 it should be set as 23.97, and the pulldown should be set to 3:2 in the advance settings, to enable this you must change the field encoding to progressive frame.
