frame selection

Hi everyone
What I'm going to tell you about isn't so important, but it's good to know:
the new versions of d2s let you cut the film by checking the "frame selection" option (near the movie lenth). you can use it to cut off credits etc.
what is good to know is that the program is doing the cq test on the entire movie, and because of that the result doesn't fill the disk. you get results like 720mb mpeg instead of 800mb.
I like this option very much, couse deciding at the begining where to cut the movie can auotomate the process.
what I do is checking how man frames i delete and set the cd size according to that (like 880mb if 10% of the frames were deleted)

good luck to you all

I'm not sure the lack of accuracy is due to the frame selection. Frameselection exists since 1.1.2b1 and I nver hab problem with that.

I guess the problem here is in the new engine used for prediction. In fact, since they changed it, I totaly dropped DVD2SVCD for CQMatic. I was pissed of making mpegs that used 95% of the avalaible space.

Do other people meet this problem ?

Yes, on some occasions end file size is 690MB-700MB, whereas usually its 795MB (810-834MB in nero).

hy canon,
welcome in kvcd forum!

if you use frame selection,d2s don't use the entire movie to get the cq!

i'm re-doing now harry potter and using frame selection to cut the final credits!
when the prog is searching the prediction(tmpgenc) is used trim(x,xx) in the
"Avisynth_Script_file_FS1_CQ_TEST.avs"
to get the right CQ !
trim(x,xx) is the frame selection that you choose!

With CQMatic :
to got the values of "trim" in d2s,
edit the dvd2svcd_log.txt and you see the:
Frameselection 1: x - xxxxx (xxxx is your value of course)
use the trim(x,xxx) in the end of your script
script .avs to be used in CQMatic !

:)
