After using ToK quite sucessfully for my DivX conversions i had heard that it had problems with the MA script so i followed a guide for using CQMatic and heard that it was a really good calculator.

I know Kwag is working on a shutdown feature for future releases of his excellent tool but i thought in the meantime ppl might be interested in a tool i found on DVD Digest.

I did a search on there for shutdown tools as i knew they had them as i used to get my DVD2DivX tools from their good site.

This tool is called 'Shutdown Counter' its a real simple tool and works with most M$ OS (I not sure about Windows 2000 though ).

Its a real simple tool what i do is wait until CQMatic works out the best CQ and once the final CQ is found and TMPGEnc begins its full encode i then start this small util.

Say your encode will take 6-8 hours i simple add an hour to the timer and it will shut down after the time is reached.

Enter it in this format: HH:MM:SS <-- Hours Mins Secs.

go to options and select Shutdown and hit go and off to bed u can go.

Try it and see what you think of it.

Get it >>>HERE<<<

WinXP -> Control Panel -> Power Settings -> Shutdown (or hybernating).

Why do you use an external tool for that ?

Lol forgot about that yeah i suppose you could use that but on my XP machine the max time you can have for standby is 5 hours and on my Pentium 3 - 933 Mhz machine it took 7 hours to convert a DVD to KVCD using TMPGEnc so i guess im stuck using that tool.

Mind you it could be good for converting DivX to KVCD as that usually only takes 3-4 hours for conversion.

Anyway if ppl find it useful its there.

You can also set shutdown within TMPGEnc

Once you have the final CQ from CQMatic prediction, start the full encode manually but set it up as a batch encode, File->Batch Encode->Add->add your project file Run A checkbox now appears near the top of the main encoding screen which allows you to shutdown after encoding is complete

Hope that helps ppl.
