Hi there, I have only recently started using Virtual Dub and was very interested in the templates available. Currently I'm using Virtual Dub to capture tv programs from my old TView99 card.

This maybe a stupid question but which template is it?

Hi chrome307:

After you capture with Vdub, you encode your captured AVI with TMPEG and one of the templates.
The templates are here:
http://www.kvcd.net/dvd-models.html
Try the "Plus" templates.

Check "Sefy's" guides, link on the main page of this site, for the process of using TMPEG and standard procedures.

Hi there, thanks for your speedy reply!!!

I downloaded all the templates as suggested and tried one out with TMPGenc Plus, what I found was that the compression is around 15% less than the standard VCD template in TMPGenc, is that about right? I made no changes to the KVCD template, should I have?

The result was a bit patchy at points especially around action but viewable. I tried it out with an episode of the Simpsons I had on my pc, animation may have not been the best medium to test with?

Anyways, it worked and I liked the fact it compressed it more.

Thanks again!!
