More than Two Hours in KVCD Format?

ok, first of all before Dilhot jumps in with the sarcasm and rips me a new one....I did try a search and did not find the info I was looking for. and I know you will say this subject has been gone over before, but I cant find the info I need, so I am asking again...

I did a DVD rip of the HULK and it is 2:12 long it plays fine on the PC, and it fits on the CDR with no problems, but when I put it in my player APEX 660 it starts at the middle of the movie, in fact all movies that are more than 2 hours do this. what is happening? Please I need info not ass chewing on this.I dont get a movie that often that is more than 2 hours, and I dont want to put it on 2 CDRz the quality is fine . what do I need to do?

MPEG-1 or MPEG-2

Muxed as VCD or SVCD

Frame rate used

3:2 pull down ( if MPEG-2 )

Used "Force FILM" in DVD2AVI

mpeg2 480x480 32 pulldown muxed with bbmpeg as svcd forced film, 23fps

but this happens if i use dvd or dvix, xvid source, 23, 25 or 29 fps, ....

This has been discussed before, IIRC the problem is that some standalone players don't like extra long clips. The official maximum for SVCDs is 100 minutes so it could be that your player doesn't like any longer clips.

Have you tried splitting the video into two different MPEG clips when muxing and then putting these on the same disc?

Hi Bombero,
I had the same problem and solve it following way. When the player starts to play from the middle, simply let him GoTo 00:00 and in my case it starts from the very begining. Hope it will help in your case. BTW this only hapens with SVCD, never with VCD.

What did you use for muxing???
TmpgEnc or BBmeg????
Because BBmpeg re-claculates the SeqHeadersOffsets using a better way.... maybe also that could solve your problem IF you used TmpgEnc for muxing (which I personally HATE!)
