Hi:

I'm trying to use your template, but can't seem to get the right resolution.

I ripped Emperors New Groove cartoon using Smart Ripper.
Then DVD2AVI and then TMPGenc 2.53 and then 2.54.

I tryed over 20 different combinations of your template, changing 29.97 & 23.9, source - 16x9 & 4x3, output 16x9 & 4x3 with all possible combinations. Most of them had problem with sound, but the biggest problem is the screen is only 1/4 size in the left side of the TV.

I have Pioneer 503 5-disc DVD player, which before never had a problem playing anything.
I also just bought Apex 1100W ($73 in Wal Mart) the screen on the Apex is double of the Pioneer's though (basically widescreen) some combinations are wider then others.

The only right screen size was at the 352x240, but the quality is pretty low (@CQ=76) and the sound at 128 is breaking out, choppy.

Please, help me get my Pioneer work.

Thanks a lot.

Al.

P.S. I also converted the downloaded movies - 1) The X-Files Existence. The file came out to be tiny: ~350M at 352x288, 134 minutes! But the sound is out of sync.
2) Same problem Shaft, out-of sync & the file is much bigger.

Hi qute11 !
If your DVD player can't give you image on full screen mees that he can't support 352x480 resolution . You can't solve this problem with changes to 4:3 or 16:9 . Only thing that can care of it is FIRMWARE in your DVD player . You can flash it and upgrade to another that can support this resolution but it's not simple and you need to know exectly what you'r going to do . Else you will remain with ex-DVD player that can't recognise any disk.

So what I meant to sey is - STAY with 352x288 & with right parameters you can get dissent quality on 1 or with worse case 2 CDr's .

About Sync problem what is you movie soure - according filesize you took DIVx and tryed to convert to MPG - I'm right ?
