Logo Removal
We need efforts to enhance logo removal from tv captures. MrTibbs has developed techniques for transparent logos, but many logos are solid. I 've tried every other method I can find, but all have flaws and are very difficult to utilize. MrTibbs method of defining the logo without extensive painting of the frame is very nice, but, as I stated, only effective on transparent logos.
If others are working on practical logo removal filters, I would like to be included for testing, even though I lack the skills necessary for actual programing. |

I capture with VirtualDub into huffy format, then resave the file using the Delogo filter in VirtualDub. I then edit the file in Edit Studio 4 from Pure Motion. Using the "Knockout" effect as an area overlay. Then save to MPG format with their built-in MPEG XS encoder. After going through two logo removals it looks fairly good. |
Just tried it on the "Cartoon Network" logo.... not as good, you end up with a blurry box where the logo was.
But it does work on transparent TV logos, like TCM |
Xlogo seems to work ok in VirtualDub, but when I try to run Avisynth 2.5 version, it bombs with a '"Avisynth open failure: Crop: you cannot use crop to enlarge or 'shift' a clip" error. This is for SciFi channel logo.
