I wanted to make a 40 min clip I have in AVI to VCD, so i converted it. Since its relatively small, I decided to tune up some quality settings to use up the CD more. It turned out to be 600 megs. I burned and popped it in my Panasonic RP-56 and it read the thing as 60 minutes?!? Did I do something wrong and is there a way I can fix this to read 40 minutes?

-I have not checked to see if its actually 40 or 60 mins yet....but I still want to know if this problem can be fixed.

Thanks

The display won't read the correct time, because the DVD player is expecting a CBR standard VCD, and that's why it reads something else.
You didn't do anything wrong. The VCD will play fine, but the DVD player will never display the total time. At least on the RP-56 and some other models. I have one too!.
