Combine AVIs with AC3 Audio?

I have two parts of avi (with few seconds overlapping).
i want to join them befor the encoding.
i tried to do it with avisynth (avisource + trim + avisource), but after that i had problems joining the sound.
i tried to join the parts with virtualdub, but it can't handel the ac3 audio.

what is the best way to do: "2avi2kvcd"?

Use virtualdubmod to join the 2 avis. It handles the AC3.
