VirtualDub: The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format

Hi all, I load my avi into virtualdub, then i select full processing mode, then save wav. Then i got this message....'The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate and the channel count of the input match those of the requested format.' Anyone any ideas on why this is happening because i don't understand it. Never happened before. Here is the film properties....

width = 672
height = 288
bit rate = 192kbps
frame rate = 25 fps
data rate = 212 kbps
video sample size = 12 bit
video compression = xvid

I have the xvid codecs installed and everything.
Thanks in Advance, Steve

Use VirtualDubMod, and then Demux the audio instead of "save as Wav".
Then use Headac3he or Besweet to convert to .mp2
