im a little new to this and though i looked around alot i couldnt find anything specific...but plz be patient with me...

i have an divx3 file which i would like to encode to kvcd but i do not want to crop anything since i think its already been done once before...its a 544x244 with ratio of 17:7 (2.43:1) and a bitrate of 874kb/s [PAL]25fps

what settings do i need for source and output stream to keep aspect ratio the same without losing any of the picture...or is that even possible? im using tmpegenc...i fuddled around with moviestacker but got so many errors i gave up on it...

the audio is also strange...it is a ac3 with 4 channels...ive seen alot of discussion about 5 channels but nuthin with 4 channels...im wondering if i should just treat it as a 2 channel stream as shown in the guides...

thnx for your time....

Don't bother using moviestacker. Take my V4 script for divx and just use it "as it". It will take care of the resize automatically without croping (except perhaps for some pixels cut only for rounding purpose)

You shouldn't use tmpgenc to do the resize. Try to use an avs script else your result will be poor.
But if you really want to use tmpgenc only, you jsut have to set "1:1" for the source A/R, "4:3" for the destination one, and "center (kepp aspect ratio)" as video arrangement method.

Ac3 is fro 1 up to 6 channel (1.0 to 5.1). The method to convert it back into a stereo MP2 is always the same (except for 1.0 ac3 that is mono, so converted into a mono MP2). Treat this ac3 as an ac3 !

Hi you can wait for someone more expericened to come along but i think it is a codec issue,but you can also try and add

Code:
ConvertToYUY2()
line to your script
