KVCD: Wide x480 resolution in PAL?
 

I've just reflect on this, and need an explanation.
If i make a KVCD with resolution (zB 480x480), try to play it on standalone, with results:
- it plays perfectly -> no further questions
- it does not play, it means that:
1) Standalone do not support 480 height?
2) Standalone suppots it, but TV don't?
Lets assume that i live in PAL region earth area.
I remark that I've not testet this, because modern TV+DVD sets handles word wide formats (mostly). My point is, what if it does not: blaim DVD or TV?
I know that this might be a strange question, but thx for any answeres :)

All depend on the image framerate ! A 480 with PAL fps (25) should not play and that is normal. A 480 with NTSc fps (23.976 or 29.97) is supposed to be played and if not, then that means the player do not support this.

This time it depends on what you mean by "Does not play".
Jerky playing ? -> this is due to the player
Smooth playing but distorted image and/or not in colour ? That is the TV.
