Hi all,

This YMPEG is very promissing! I read this whole thread and read that KVCD is not working great yet.

1: I was wondering. What is the best way with YMPEG to convert my AVI movie to an (s)kvcd using YMPEG and VDUB and Calcumatic?

2: I also have many problems when I try to convert a avi which has VBR audio. The audio and video do not sync good. What can I do about that?

You read right. So why do you ask that :

Hi,

I was asking this because I try everything but there still is no program that can work easy. DVD2SVCD doesn't work at all.
So YMPEG should be nice. I want to use it for making SKVCD and KDVD's. That's why i asked a good solution from you guys, since you guys know much about this stuff.

We all agree with that. But as you read, YMPEG is not ready fot KVCD. If it was, you can be sure you would have been noticed about that in the forum

Note : I do not understand why people want to use Vdub with YMPEG. We can use TMPGENC even for that ! The speed will be the same and will still have the benefit of the interface we already know. If the idea is to use vdub filters insteed of avs script, it's a bad idea.

Phill,

Oke oke I understand that it's beta no worry. What I want to know..

WHAT IS DA BEST WAY TO CONVERT A AVI 2 SKVCD???

dvd2svcd worked 1 time on my pc... after de-installing every codec and installing everything. Installing dvd2svcd and then codec pack didn't work at all.
When tempenc starts up it always gives me a black screen....

So is there an easier way or beter way to convert avi 2 skvcd?

The "regular" one using tmpgenc, cqmatic, and my V4 script for avi->kvcd that you can find there :

What part does not work ?
By the way, D2S is USELESS for avi->kvcd. It is usefull only for making DVD as it gives more ptoblem than other thing on avis.

That means that you have a big problem with the codecs on your PC and it is not YMPEG that will solve that.

You must update your codec to the last versions. If you use a pack, I recommand you to use ACE one (version 5.93 player).

Hi Phill,

Thanks for the quick response. I'll try to make CQMatic work.. I have no idea how yet but I'll do my best.
I'll install avs 2.53 (now I have 20 and will see if it will work for mee. Also the height en width are a little difficult for me because now I am used to Moviestacker to do this for me.... Maybe i'll combine it...so anyhow.. thanks again..

I'll let you know if I have some problems...

Stef

We also use Moviestacker for that. Just do a copy/past of the resizing line + the addborders (and eventually the letterbox line) generated by moviestacker in the script you use.

Or if you want you can trust in gripfit but I have to admit that we do not do that ourself (little problems with gripfit).

@Hi stefsegers,

For easy avi ---> to VCD/SVCD/DVD, try Cucusoft's encoder. It's
not KVCD, but it's does everything from encoding video, multiplexing
audio/video to create the final mpeg-1 or mpeg-2. With VCDEasy to
burn VCD or SVCD and ImgTool for DVD. It's very easy. There
is one exception, sometimes you need to split the movie to fit on
two CD's (800MB). Video quality ranges from good to excellent.
