I've bin into the kvcd scene for the last year or more, but now I got a dvd burner & I've bin tryin KDVD.
My question is ...

(1) kvcd 528 x 480 it looks better than kdvd 352 x 480 am i correct ?

(2) Is there a a program that will let me burn non standard KDVD'S ?
@ 528 X 480 (KDVD not kvcd)

(3) & LAST ...
If i play a 352 x 480 KDVD on a HD-TV will it look even blockier, same,
or better in quality ? (plannin on gettin 1 so i wanna know)

Thanks in advance, Now help me please lol peace !!

Never tried, but Sans Grip once posted that even DVDs look blockier and with mosquito noise. So I guess it will look worse.

If you just wonna put one movie on one DVD-R, IfoEdit is also a very good choice as it accepts also diff. resoultions.

What i want is 3 - 2hour movies on 1 dvd-r @ 528 x 480
Yes I know it not standard resolution but if I encode @ 720 x 480
it takes like 12 hours (with p4 clone computer)
& if i goto 352 x 480 the pic quality is really dark for some movies & blocky for others (I noticed that 528 x 480 ain't blocky)

I've tryed 528 x 480 but when i try ta burn ta dvd-r all the burning programs want to recode from 528 x 480 to 720 x 480 & they wanna use the whole disc not jus 1 3rd
Someone help a brotha out thanks

Which appl. want's to reencode? DVDlab???

352x480 is a good format to encode as its 1/2DVD and as the height is keeped at full size you won't loss that much sharpeness.

So try to find out what was wrong on your 352x480 encoding cause if you don't notice blocks at 528x480 you also wouldn't notice blocks at 352x480, .... even less blocks.

So helpful would be to know which encoder you used for encoding AND the encoding settings ... cause this is where all bases on.

Appliances that wanna recode are "nero & Tmpgenc dvd author"
Well nero wants to recode it & tmpg dvd author wont except files unless they r 352 x 480, 704 x 480 or 720 x 480"

I use KVCD'S own "Tok & tmpenc" along with avisynth 2.5.4

On a athlon xp 2ghz
