At the moment, i am running an athlon 1ghz cpu with about 380mb pc133 sdram (old system now), but what's the better thing to upgrade to encode faster? I was thinking of Athlon 3000xp cpu and pc3200 memory, but then the fx came out. Would it be worth paying the extra for an athlon fx cpu?
What would make things like encoding run faster....cpu or memory. I know you're going to say both, but 1 at a time please....With cpu comes new motherboard and big bill.

Thanks all

First CPU, then Memory. But at least 256 Mo memory is needed.
